The water trail
Follow the bends and flows of the River Medway.
This trail takes you from the Stag at Lockmeadow along the river via Archbishop Palace to the DNA Helix in Whatman Park.
This trail is about 8km and should take you about 2 hours – or more if you stop off at the different play areas.
You will find over 20 different pieces of artwork, including sculptures, displays and structures.

Travelling to the start
Lockmeadow is well served by public transport.
It is a short walk from Maidstone West station on the Medway Valley line (Strood-Tonbridge) which is served by SouthEastern and about 10 minutes from Maidstone East station on the London Victoria-Ashford line.
Lockmeadow is close to the town centre which is served by numerous bus routes by Arriva.
